Zion the Lion !! May 2013

This blog is about the Zion national park Trip I went on May 2013 with my cousins in the United States.

This was a wonderful trip planned and executed perfectly by Kavitha a mountaineer :).
It was a cake walk for me to just follow the plan and ask her what next.

We landed on Las vegas on Thursday evening and I explored the Strip Street (Las Vegas Blvd).
Roamed the streets and saw few Casinos like Newyork Newyork, Paris, Mirage, Casino Royale etc.,
Couldn't get the glipse of Valcano or dancing fountain or shows near by as it was very late.

Stayed that night in the Treasure Island Casino and as usual tried my hard luck with Wheel of fortune and donated 40 $ to Casinos Charity :)

Next day (Friday Morning) we we started the real Party to Zion National Park. A 3 hour drive from Vegas a nice and wonderful one. Started from Nevada, we crossed Arizona border and reached Utah the deserted land of mountains and canyons.

We reached Zion and Started a light hike the first day to Parus Trial. We went to the visitor center watched the movie about the Zion National Park history. Also saw the camps, RVs , tents around it was wonderful.

We hiked back to the Parul Trial head and reached the River access where we had  fun time :).

From there we drive to the Mountain tunnel where we could see the tunnel constructed underneath a mountain.

Wayanad Christmas 2010

Just thought of updating this blog with my Wayanad Trip as it would be useful for some one in future.

Wayanad is a place in Kerala , about 300 Kms from Bangalore, we decided to spend a week end in wayanad as this was my week end after my 6th sem Exams.

In two days, we 4 members decided to cover as much places as possible in a swift car.

We choose the route Bangalore-Mysore-Nagerhole-Wayanad for going and Wayanad-Gundelpet-Mysore-Bangalore for returning back.

We started at 5.00 AM saturday (25-12-10), reached Mysore at around 8 had break fast and drove through the Nagerhole Wild life sanctury. Traffice is allowed only between 9 AM to 6 PM via that sanctury.

We spotted some wild deers , Forest pigs and some few monekyes in the sanctury,we slowly drove and reached wayanad at 12.30 via Mananthavady.

Our troubles started here, there are 2 main towns in wayanad , they are Sulthan Bathery(SB) and Kalpetta(KT) within 20 Km distances. Edakkal caves is a place near SB, we almost reached KT where most of the toursit attractions are present but just seeing a board towards edakkal caves (22km) we turned our car to Edakkal caves which is near SB. We reached there at 3 and unfortunately it was closed :( due to maintenance works.

Then we found a Sign board to Meenumutty Falls, we travlled to that spot and reached at around 4.30 , People are allowed only between 9 AM -5 PM , we some how managed to reach in at time.

Meenu Mutty falls is a good treking spot more than falls . There are a few small streams and a big waterfalls in which we cannot touch water unless during summer seasons when water flow is less.

We took some good snaps aand reached back to Kalpetta at 7.30, we searched for a few tourist homes and found one for 1400 per night for 4 people, I then learnt its better to book prior than searching on the fly. Finally slept for the day with good snoring effects of my friends and also with the learning that Planning is very important for travel :).

Next day morning I woke up, opened my laptop, searched for all the near by places from kalpetta , there are 3 good places (Soochipara falls, Poovakote lake, Banasura dam).

We reached Soochipura falls at 11 AM, with a small trecking we found good water falls where we can play in water, we then started to Poovakote lake at 3 PM after lunch at the falls. There are good sceneries on the way with fully covered Tea and coffee estates.

Reached Poovakote lake at 4 PM sunday , again it would be closed at 5.PM, some how managed to get the tickets for boating and pedalled for 20 Mins. It was a nice experience .We could not explore Banasura Dam as it was a getting late to reach bangalore.

Started to bangalore at 5.30 PM reached banglore at 12.30 PM with a dinner break at Mysore.

As a whole this was a tightly packed trip with pleasure and learning as well.

Following are the some of the learning.

1) Wayanad requries atleast 4 days to cover all the places.
2) We cant cover this over 2 day week end
3) Each place is some approx 25 KM distant far, so maximum 2 places can be covered on a day if we want to enjoy peacefully.
4) We can also reah calicut beach(Arabian sea) ~80 KM from wayanad.
5) Plan very well before the trip.
So this was a memorable christmas , I will soon forget all these places names. Hence documented in this blog.

Cheers :).

Body Building,..

Now a days.. the major thoughts in the minds of the college boys is body building...

Its is really a major task which has both is goood and bad sides..

Persons thinking that they may gain stamina Put lots of weight but the major problem occouring through this is that their growth is stopped to that limit and they can never grow as their muscles become rigid and the needed felxibility for the group gets losed and then they feel that they have cutted their growth...

There is also another advantage of these body building...

Boys with good physique can roam around more happily than the people with less physique..
They feel inferior complex and they become fed up at manu situations,,,.

But my decision is that they can prefer yoga and some less flexible exercises rather than the heavier exercises as it may cause problem to their future...

Ok any how all the best god bless...

Gods creatures...

Hi friends ... I have a small doubt regarding the gods creatures in the world...

If a Living being is been created by a god so that it can live in the world he as also created another living being which has to sacrifice its life or sacrifice something for the others...

For example A mother sacrificing their youth and Happiness for their Children...

A father working nights and days to keep his family happy...

A goat being killed by lion for its food...

Goats eating the grasses...

In such a manner we can say that all lives in the world are dependent on each other and no one can say that I am an independent person who can create on my own and live on my own...

Though the above statments may seem to be vey usual things just think about it for a moment and you can realise everything in the world...
